Great tournament going on. Tough conditions out there.
Thoughts on Billy Horschel's ruling on 18 where he got relief because his stance was on a sprinkler. Seems really unfair to be able to move a ball from thick rough to fringe and be able to putt. Not blaming him. It's the rule, but just seems unfair.
Hopefully there will be a lot of carnage today. I enjoy these ugly tournaments.

I don't think it's unfair. Just part of the game. Luck is a huge part of golf. Had his ball hit a bird in flight and he ended up in the water he would've been dropping and hitting his fourth into the green. He happened to get lucky with hitting his ball next to the sprinkler and hit a great shot to take advantage.
Champ was 7 over today. What has happened to him?
For as long as he is his greens in reg is awful, combined with bad short game and bad putting. Very feast or famine career with 3 wins but only 7 top tens to date.
He doesn't seem to be well focused to me.

Looks very similar to about 4 of my shots out of the bunker at pecan lakes yesterday
That Woodland shot was straight up amateur hour. Didn't even need to see the ball, you could just tell that was ugly. Eagle-double. This is basically a matter of who leaks the least oil

Hovland's was a much tougher lie. Downslope and in the depression. Not comparable at all. His was basically a "that's the best you can do with that nonsense".

Sounds like some players were frustrated. I get it but nobody chose for the wind to act like it did.
Judging by the overall scores this weekend though they may want to dial back roughs and greens just a tick next year.

Agree. And while I understand frustration from some golfers about the condition, Scheffler handled it and hit clutch shots when it mattered to win. Isn't that what we want?
I'm so sick of this ***** People ***** when they win 30 under par, and then people wanna ***** when the course is playing tough and players are struggling.

Agree. Also found it semi humorous he used next week's $20M purse as some sort of shot to make this setup easier then this week's was $12M and one I think the 2nd biggest non - major purse of all time.
So does money matter or not? I'd rather the course/tour compromise and keep the tough setup but move it up a weekend if this is really going to keep top players out of the event
