With driver prices being so crazy i am looking to upgrade but not break the bank. I like the look of the Ping 425, but $$$. I have been playing Taylormade for years and the Sim 2 is even more $$$$.

In researching i found good things and reviews about Mizuno STZ and PXG 0211. Does anyone play either of these or tested them? I play stiff shafts, typically Even Flow. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!!!

TXG boys had their bracket challenge and Mizuno won it.

If you like the ping g425 I would look at the g400 and g410. Save a few bucks and still get something good

Has anyone tried the Dollar Driver Club? It seems tempting because you can try 3 drivers in a year and the membership goes towards the cost of the driver if you end up wanting to buy it?

Let me know your thoughts if you have tried it.

PXG is a great deal at the moment. g410 is in my bag for the foreseeable future. It's not the longest, but there have been a dozen times I hit it and thought "oh ****, that's ob" only to look up and it's just off fairway. Crazy forgiving.

I have the G410 as well and love it. It's more forgiving to me compared to the others. Distance difference between the manufacturers is minimal.

As for the OP, go to somewhere like 2ndswing.com and but the previous years model or two years that is in Mint or Above Average condition. This years driver tech is no different then the previous.

Just got a 0211 recently and really like the head on it. I may go get fitted for a new shaft but a big fan on the head. My fades have been much less pronounced due to the forgiveness. Like the sound and the looks a bunch.

+1 on the g400 max from ping . If you can find one with the loft you like new or used buy it.
Pretty sure you will see one in the final three groups today.

Now they just released Gen4 and they are only $299 new without a shaft upgrade! I would just have to deicide 9 or 7.5 degree and X vs XT.... Anyone gaming these yet?

It's worth paying the 50$ for them to fit you.

OP, did you end up getting a PXG?

I found a good deal on callawaypreowned for a subzero mavrik. So I am trying that out over the next 2-4 weeks. If I don't like it, I might go PXG.

The Gen4 is intriguing to me. I played PXG driver years ago and really liked it. Still interested to hear if someone else is trying one out.

I'm split between the 0211 and the 0811.

I have both, well I actually have about one of every companies product. XT is a fairly compact head and shallow face. I prefer the look of the X though. XT sound and feel is much better than the X (yes there is a difference). Performance, probably lean X unless you are a solid ball striker. I prefer the Mizuno though over all of em.

This is good to know. I went to the driving range today with the Mavrik subzero, and thought it was more forgiving than my Taylormade M5. I did adjust the weights in it because it felt too heavy. Will take it on a course this weekend to see how it goes.

I have like Mizuno in the past. I was very tempted to get the new Z, but if i need to wait a year I might. Thanks for the info EwingBarnes!
