Anyone played Pine Dunes recently? Headed that way next weekend for a stay and play with some buddies and it's our first time out there. Read some reviews recently that the greens were still bumpy from being punched in early May. Also hoping they don't get as much rain as is forecasted in the coming days.

I've had quite a few friends play within the last 30 days.

Here's what they said..

Greens are great even though they've been punched.
Rain doesn't affect the course much, they have an underground drainage system

Go enjoy it. I'm trying to sneak out on a work day here soon to get in 36.

Assume you live close-ish to Pine Dunes? I'm over in Athens and play there occasionally. Always looking for someone willing to play at random days/times when my schedule allows...

Hour 45. However, funny you mention Athens. While my course is closed for repairs this summer, Athens has agreed to let us play there for a cart fee. So I'm sure I'll be there a lot.

Pine Dunes with excessive rain and bumpy greens is still better than most public courses in Texas at their prime.

That's what I hear. I'm hopeful the greens will be rolling smooth as it's been a month since they were punched. I did call the shop today to ask a question about the condo's and they said we will be good to go this weekend in terms of it not being cart path only. Our group is excited, looking forward to Friday!

I think you will really enjoy it. The 18th is one of the best finishing holes in golf IMHO. Lots of risk/reward to consider and a three tier green. Careful with your tee shot.

I, too, will be there starting Friday and very much looking forward to the weekend out there.

I'm on site now. My son is going for his 5th straight NTjrPGA win.
The putting green and 18th green are in almost perfect shape. Great speed. I would guess y'all are going to be in for a great wkd.
I'll report back after he plays. Only playing front 9.

Made a birdie on 9 for a 38. Won by 8

Front 9 was in great shape. Greens are rolling well. It's only going to get better as it continues to dry. Y'all should be in for great golf this wkd. I'm jealous!
