WOW. They are going to tear that course up! They used to do Web.com finals there, and the scores were crazy low.

That's a pretty good spectator course, although getting in and out with busses will be interesting. The players will (and do) like it a lot more than Trinity Forest. They make like it even more than TPC Four Seasons.

Plus the finishing hole is a great par 5, which always makes for good drama.

Never thought that course was that much superior than the 4 seasons. A much better location than TF. That's for sure.

When is the course in Frisco going to be ready?

I think 2022/2023. That course is going to be hosted by the PGA of America ... will be interesting to see if they allow a regular tour event to be there. My guess would be not, at least not in the first 4-5 years.

The PGA Championship is scheduled to be there in 2027.

Good. Craig Ranch is a fun course and a good layout spectator wise.

Hated Four Seasons. There's a reason why it was voted by Tour players as one of the top 3 most disliked courses.

All it did was attract drunk college kids, 90% of the spectators where the instagram/snapchat crowd.

Not only will Craig Ranch be a more fun course to both watch and play it will attract more avid golf fans

What the pros liked about Four Seasons was the way that the resort treated their families. I live up close to Craig Ranch. I still think they will still have issues attracting good fields for the tournament as they have lost some of the attraction for the families.

I think this is to work out the logistics of moving people around Collin Co. When they host a PGA or Ryder Cup there in the future it could be a mess.

The Nelson will most likely never attract good fields again now that Mr. Nelson passed.

I'm curious what Craig ranch offers that the 4 seasons does not. I'm biased as I live just down The street from the 4 Seasons but I can't think of anything having played both courses numerous times.

All that said they'll have a lot more turnout from both the fans and players now that it has left TF.

How do you think the schedule change to the week before the PGA Championship will impact turnout? It can't hurt, right?

It used to be the week after the Players, which meant most of the big names were taking a break. Do more big names use the Nelson as a PGA Championship primer?

Certainly can't hurt.

A willingness to host the event in 2021, I think that is the biggest thing. I know for certain that the 4 Seasons wasn't super eager to get the tournament back, at least not immediately, especially with the changes to the schedule.

I think it will eventually end up back there, because it makes the most sense, geographically and facility-wise, but running a PGA Tour event isn't exactly a moneymaker for a course/club, so it doesn't surprise me that the 4 Seasons isn't chomping at the bit to get the event back.

And while the players didn't like the 4 Seasons, they hated Trinity Forest even more.

Curious as to why you think craig ranch would attract less of the snapchat crowd?
