From a lot of reading online, it looks like DAC is highly recommended for a great course at good value. I am wanting a club that has a lot of members in the 30-40 age range. Is DAC still a CC that has a lot of younger members?

I also play tennis, does DAC have a good tennis scene?

P.S. I am obviously looking to be sold on the CC you are currently at. So please let me know about the clubs you are members at and different options that I should be considering. Thanks!

Come join me at Las Colinas Country Club! We are about 6 weeks away from being fully re-open after a long renovation - new greens, Zoysia fairways, redone bunkers, teeboxes, etc ... pretty much a full renovation. You might be able to get a better-than-normal deal right now too, since I'm sure ClubCorp is looking desperately for business. Also a pretty big, active tennis membership and facility - one of the only clubs in the region with both outdoor and indoor tennis courts. I don't play, but I do use the workout facility a lot.

If you live toward downtown/east of 45, DAC would actually be great. I don't know a great deal about the membership demographics, but I know they have great pool/aquatic area, which might lend itself to younger members with kids. Plus, 2 golf courses is always nice, IMO.

Also, if you are looking for budget/pricing info, AvidGolfer Magazine does a "Best of Private Clubs" Issue for DFW each March, and they list the initiation and dues for most/all of the private clubs in DFW. Most of the initiation fees are going to be negotiable, but you can at least get an idea to compare.

Here is a link to the March issue - https://en.calameo.com/myavidgolfer/read/004756792e92cba4ddc33

DFW is a very spread out place so geography plays a big factor. Cost varies widely as well.

I played DAC in October and was less than impressed with the facilities and the course, FWIW.
I grew up going to Gleneagles and would likely go that route if I was in the market. There are a number of other clubcorp facilities in the area as well.

Does Dallas = Dallas? Or Dallas = DFW Metroplex?

As others have said, geography plays an important part in the answers you get. You'll need to specify which part of the metroplex you live in. Giving advice about clubs in Dallas proper will not be good if you actually live in the north Fort Worth area...

a wide variety of options in DFW but more info on location and budget would help you get more targeted recommendations.

In a similar situation as the OP... thanks for posting the link to Avid Golfer. Las Colinas sounds interesting after the renovation, and Club Corp is known for being a great deal.

Sounds like DAC has an active young membership and attracts good golfers. Are there strong players at Las Colinas CC?

Any DAC members on Texags?

I used to be a member out there before we started having kids. Great club, a lot of young families from Lake Highlands so if you are in that stage of life I'm sure you'd find your niche easily. Like most other "affordable" options in Dallas proper, the tee sheet gets full pretty quick. Believe they have something like 1,000 golf members and actually heard they just hit their limit and now have a wait list. 2 great courses though which helps break up the monotony a bit. It does also have the reputation of having some exceptional golfers. In my opinion, it is the best option in Dallas proper for the money.
