I need to get a rain suit for a week long trip in Ireland playing seven rounds. Seeing as how I may not use it again I am not looking for super high end, but I also don't want something falling apart on me.

Does anyone have any recommendations for one I should look at and/or where to buy it?

Things I think I should consider:
- Good rain protection
- Doesn't interfere with swing
- Easy on/easy off
- Can fit in golf bag easily.
- Any other things I'm missing?

Thanks.

Something you can return if you don't use it.

FootJoy Hydrolite
I have the top with the zip off sleeves and use it on and off the course. Had mine for 7 years and still in great shape.

I've been told that by a few others, thanks. Maybe I'm just cheap but from what I've found it will run me $300 for jacket and pants. I don't foresee me using them again much. If it is raining I usually am not playing.

I have an Adidas that I thought I liked. It works well around here.

I played in some good rain at Erin Hills a couple months ago similar to what you may see and I got soaked. It didn't hold up to real rain and my shirt and pants were very wet.

Don't go cheap.

This is one of those scenarios where I would assume you are spending a big chunk of change on the trip, so don't cheap out on the last bit where quality vs. cheapass rain gear could absolutely make or break some day(s) you are there. Get good stuff (the FJ hydrolite is good) and keep the tags if you end up luckily enough to not need it.

The trip is so expensive and why I'm trying to go cheap! You're probably right and I need to bite the bullet.

Columbia Omnitech. $55 for jacket and $50 for pants at Dicks. Jacket also has a hood. And I would just put the hood over my rain hat.

Wore it at Bandon for 3 days in nonstop rain. I stayed dried except for my hands.

Water proof Puma shoes held up.

Get you some rain gloves too.

Best tip I ever received about playing in wet conditions is grip the club as lightly as possible through out the swing.

seriously, a very soft grip with a wide stance cure swing aliments in any conditions.

Exactly. But slightly less lightning-roddy if possible.
