Dangit. In early May they closed for high water, temporarily. I was thinking about catching a twilight out there this week so I called, no answer.

Did some digging on their FB page and found this comment from them:

"Yes, it's true. The course has been permanently closed for now. Mother Nature won."

That was what I considered my "home course." River Ridge was my favorite but it closed too.

My Katy area options are now Cinco Ranch (waaaaay too crowded), Meadowbrook Farms ($$$$ and semi-private), and not much else.

I guess I'll just play fewer rounds and make the drive to Highmeadow Ranch.

That sucks

Grew up and learned to play on that course. We'd make the 45 min drive because we could have the place to ourselves while we hacked it up, the scenery was awesome, and dad could easily sneak his own beer on the course without anyone hassling him.

Sorry to hear this. Always a fun track even with the rerouting after the river eroded some of it & you better hit that drive on 18 if you are going to carry the smutz...

Driver on 18 depended on wind. Usually I went 8-iron to the end and then 9/PW to the green. I loved #10. Bend it around the tree if you're feeling aggressive, easy hybrid to the short grass if you're playing back

Damnit... the site of my one and only hole-in-one. Does it still count?

What about Greatwood?

It's not the nicest but a quick round and okay layout.

If you want a quick round, drive 10 minutes past Greatwood to River Pointe.

Ok I haven't played there in over two years. It was decent for the price last time I was out there.

I will miss that place. My fav Houston area course for sure.

Bastrop is nice

Greatwood hasn't been in good shape in 15 years.

Reminds me of the time I was trying to call Blaketree to book a round on my way into town and couldn't get an answer.
