Seriously though. I've never heard of using sugar.
I have heard of using sand though.

It's a trick used by many northern Cal golfers, many scratch handicaps. Yes Sand and lead powder are popular but Ive heard sand degrades over time a d it can rattle but sugar doesn't. Also, of course you have to cap the shaft with some tape to prevent sugar from spilling out.

One guy in my foursome with a plus index is the best putter I have seen. He has a 33 inch putter that's pretty heavy. I asked him about the weight and he finally spilled his secret. Sugar filled shaft.

Have you been watching Dechambeaus pointers again? I assume you also spray water on the club face so it is wet before it hits the morning dew too.

Never heard of this, its an interesting concept to me. I play a Ken Giannini with a head around 360 grams IIRC - whenever I replace my grip I might try the tungsten powder route.

I have a screw-in plug on the end of my clubs. When I need a hit of sugar I pop that sucker off and get me a mouthful of sweetness. It's like a giant pixy stick.

Is this a euphemism the hipsters are using?

I now have a sweet putter. Feels heavier overall. Will see.

Watch out for golfers who use lip chapstic. Applied to the face of the club can deaden the spin hence straighter shots for the cheater.

Filled 2 putters with Sugar. I'm thinking this weighs down the putter with a minimal change to swing weight since the weight is almost equally added and distributed to the shaft. In essence I have increased the weight of the shaft.

The putts are rolling really well and it did smooth out my putting stroke.

I may try this and see how i like it.

At a practice green right now. This is no joke. Unbelievable distance control.

When pouring sugar into the shaft, let the sugar settle then pour more in. Then I stuffed double sided tape to cap the shaft.

Definitely feels different than lead tape and / or powder down the shaft.

I have now sugar filled the following putters.

Ping Anser 2: 33 inches
Ping B63: 33 inches
Ping Craz-e: 33. 5 inches

Because they were all originally 35 inches but cut down, it lost a bunch of swing weight. But sugar filling has not only restored the weight, it actually is a bit heavier than the original weight.

It prevents me from getting offline.

I have now sweetened 4 putters. It's like having bought 4 new putters. I definitely like the way these feel.

I may have to try this to my Craz E also.

Only if you think your putter feels light. Craz-E putter shaft takes in more sugar than others and it's heavy.

Now look for ants in your golf bag.

I think it's funny how 2 days ago Druggist was just going to try it. Now everything in his house with a shaft is getting sugar poured into it. His male dog is probably hiding by now.

A little confused by this...... The sand degrades over time but the Sugar doesn't. Not sure that makes sense to me.

Also I live in Northern California and never heard of this
