Bryan Kelly used to post on Texags a good bit a few years back. He's about to hit some balls on the Golf Channe.

He barely lost.

Has a really good swing vs the guy who beat him. Awesome competition tho.

Wish he couldve pulled it out.

His best was 380 while the guy who beat him hit 382. He has steadily been getting better over the last couple of years. Hopefully he will keep improving and make some more TV appearances.

Watching those competitions, it's hard not to wonder what you might be able to do with one of those drivers.

They changed the rules...they are regulation tour drivers... obviously stiffer shafts, but they must conform to USGA Rules!

When? I just watched a competition earlier this year and it looked to me like they were still using the long whippy clubs. Didn't look regulation at all.

All clubs (shafts and heads) are USGA legal. They CT test etc during the event. I competed in this event 2 of the last three years including this year.

Most use 3 or 4X shafts.

No, I haven't competed in almost a decade. It hurts my back to even watch long drive now.

I saw a doctor (follow up visit after getting rear ended & concussed last week) today who told me that I have the back of a 60-70 year old. I broke my back in a car wreck 20 years ago, and it's been giving me trouble the last 6 months.

Thanks man. I still lurk on the golf forum but don't post much. I'm feeling great today after an anti-inflammatory shot yesterday. I'll enjoy having a back that feels normal for the next few days until this stuff wears off.
