I consistently hit balls off the top of the face with the driver. I've tried teeing the ball higher/lower, swinging up more, etc and I can't find a fix to get more solid contact in the middle of the face. I know I'm leaving yards out there with this higher face contact. any suggestions?

Tried changing the ball position in your stance?

Get a lesson or two.

I would suggest trying to hit the ball a little lower on the face. That way you are not hitting it high on the face and losing distance.

In all seriousness If you feel good about the swing and are hitting it straight I would just commit to teeing it up lower. Not try it once or twice but do it for a month.

You're probably teeing too high and dipping your shoulder. Quit before you ruin all the tee boxes.

Have you tried breathing out on your back swing? Then breathing in on your downswing?

Clears your chest by emptying your lungs. Allows you to come through easier, and adding air on the downswing adds power.

dont forget he needs to push with his trail hand instead of pull with his lead hand.

Great, now I am confused. I thought it was in/out and pull not push

You just keep pushing and pulling in and out and pretty soon you'll have some sauce for the cart girl.

Take a quick video of your swing from behind the ball. A common problem with amateurs that rarely gets mentioned starts with the left knee (assuming right handed.) On the backswing the knee flexes down, instead of toward the right knee, then your head drops and spine angle changes. The tendency is to hit high on the club face and a bit toward the hosel. If you see that in your video, concentrate on your spine angle by not letting the knee drop down, but flex toward the right knee.

Just one more idea.

Lol, y'all have me laughing at some of these tips. Put some masking tape on the face of your driver no matter what tip/swing change you use in order to see if it works. Video tape your swing, take a look, it might be something as simple as choking down on your grip or decreasing the length of your driver.

Quick tip that changed my driving immensely. I'd be willing to bet you put the driverhead right up to the ball or pretty close at address. If you don't, you can stop reading.

You want a slightly ascending blow when hitting a driver. Easy way to make that happen is to create more space between the driver head and the golf ball at address. . Where you have the driver head at address is where the bottom of the swing will be. Therefore, any thing after that, the club will be going up. Try putting more space between the driver head and the ball... think you'll like the way it comes off

This might work for you which is great (and keep doing it if it works) but that's not what determines the bottom of the swing arc.

my guess is that you are hitting the ball on a slight downward path. Now - why I have no idea - could be a number of things...need to see video.
