Will be spending a weekend up there in late April and was wondering if there were any solid courses in that area? I played one last year that was decent (I think in Gilmer...or on Gilmer Rd. maybe?) and wouldn't mind playing it again if there were no better options. TIA

If you can get onto Pinecrest, that's a solid course.

Garden valley would be about 45 mins from you. Great course

Garden Valley is public and nice. Don't think you can get on Pinecrest.

Can you pay a guest fee and get on at Hideaway?

My cousin said he's played a pretty cool little course called The Challenge in Waskom. That's about 30-40 min from there.

Used to live in hideaway and honestly If take garden valley over it FWIW, but I'm not a huge fan of playing around a bunch of houses myself.

Going up to spend time with grandparents easter weekend so 1.5 hr round trip on top of a 4+ hr round of golf may be a little too much after thinking about it. May have to stay local and play Wood Hollow (only course I've played there). OK course, but close and cheap. Definitely want to try a few of these in the future though.
