Have never played the South course but got a pretty good deal on golfnow.com for Sunday afternoon.

What's the course lookin like nowadays and any input, feedback, pointers on the place?

TIA

Played in a scramble there yesterday and the greens were in good shape. Fairways seemed dry and thin. It's worth a discounted golfnow rate.

As far as pointers... you cannot fly the creek on 15 but you can fly the lake/drive the green on 16. And hit it straight as it's a tight course off the tee. That's about all I got.

I played the North course yesterday. My team won the gross & I won the long drive.

How'd you do?

Nice! Had some buddies win the net and tie the gross (got 2nd due to tie-breakers). Think they shot a -14. What did top gross shoot on the north? Seems like there were overall better scores on the north. But I'm surprised only -14 won it.

My team shot a -10. Frustrating day because we lipped out or burned the edge on about 6-8 holes, so we really could have shot even better.

While the South is tight off the box, it's a really easy course from the white tees they made us play. 3 different <450ish yard par 5s? I'll take that! On #9 we had a 120 yard 2nd shot.

One guy in my group won a set of AP2s in the door prize drawing. He traded some guy for a Ping Karsten putter, a hybrid of some sort and $600 cash. Pretty good day.

I won a 64* Titleist Vokey. First time I've ever won any drawing and it's a wedge I will never and probably could never even hit. Just my luck. I'm pretty sure Golfsmith with take it for store credit though. I may upgrade my sand wedge.

We were -14. Lipped out several putts; got off to a slow start (-2 thru 6). I was consistently 325-335 w/ a few over 350 & hit 10/14 fairways..... we just couldn't do much with our 20-40 yard approaches into the par-4s. Fun tourney though. I got a bluray for door prize.

As far as BlackHorse, I'd pay $45-50 to play it if I lived in Houston. Can't believe it's a $90 course.

Paid $53 on golfnow. Pretty food for Sunday @ 1250. Lets hope the rain holds off.

Course was nice and had a good time. Greens were rolling slow but pretty smooth. Very tough course just for the fact that's it's very unforgiving with bad bounces, uneven lies, and the stretch in the old rock quarry is brutal.

However, I did put my drive on 16 about 12 feet from the pin and sank the eagle and finished the round by draining a 60-70 footer for birdie on 18.

Like the others I wouldn't pay over $55 and not sure how they get people to pay $80+ for the course but we had a good time for sure.
