Anybody played here recently?

I think I remember the consensus around here being that unless you played it around the time they held the Shell, it wasn't worth the money. I've only played it once and my experience was in line with that as well.

I was just wondering if this still holds true with the new management. I've got a buddy who wants to go play for the first time, and I'm trying to decide if I want to chance it again.

Well, the Shell is coming soon so I bet it's in good shape. It's a really good layout, just hit or miss on conditions.

I'd say it's definitely worth checking out, especially right now. Not sure what non-member guest rate is but might as well splurge a little to play it. It's in awesome shape right now and will be in pretty good shape up until it starts hitting 100 degrees on the regular. Also, if you know of anyone who is a member, the member's course is pretty fun and challenging and the greens are in pretty good shape right now. I play the member course fairly regularly.

I'm a member out there and can vouch for the condition of the Tournament course right now. It should be in excellent shape - albeit a little wet from the rain over the past few days. The new management has done a good job trying to keep the courses in as good or better shape than the previous owners. We'll really find out how well they do when the temperatures go up and the overseed starts to burn off on the tournament course. FWIW, the member course is always in great shape and a pretty good track in its own right. I actually prefer it to the Tournament course.

I was actually going to ask if they overseeded the tournament course this year. I think when it changed ownership people weren't certain they were going to overseed. I don't see how they can't overseed with a PGA tourney early April and have that course tour ready.

Btw, it was the best conditioned course I have played last may.

Play it often and it's in great shape...great layout and tough carries on some of the holes.

Yeah, it kicked my ass the first time I played it. Time for some redemption.

Made a tee time for Thursday. Can't wait!

Y'all were right, course was in great shape. They were still fertilizing the hell out of it while we played too. I think the Member's Course is getting the shaft as it looked like Brock Park from our view on the 17th tee.

We couldn't play the tips, and it was cart path only in preparation for the Shell. It was pretty fun playing with the grandstands around the greens.

Speaking of the greens, they were rolling perfectly but a little slow. Caddie said they keep them at 8 or 9 before they cut them down for the tourney.

Also got a look at Connor Black putting in some work, and the Ags sure got a good one with him!
