Buddy took a job in Portland, Ore, so we are leaving tomorrow on a 7 day trip to get his car there.

We'll leave Houston tomorrow morning and arrive in Scottsdale tomorrow evening.

Tuesday we have an 8:30am tee time at We-Ko-Pa (Saguaro Course) and a 3:35pm tee time at Troon North (Pinnacle Course).

Rates drop significantly in May/June. During peak season the Green fee at Troon North is $325. Our twilight round will cost us $49. WeKoPa is normally $225 and we are paying $75.

Can't wait.

Yeah the green fees are substantially reduced this time of year. As long as you can put up with the heat it's definitely a great deal.

Me and a group of friends are heading out for a couple rounds in 2 weeks, so lemme know how things go for you...

We're playing TPC Stadium, Troon North - Pinnacle, and Grayhawk - Talon.

I've played in 106 degree dry Vegas heat and honestly it's better than the 90 degree with humidity than I play in Houston.

I am headed back out here in September for a bachelor party and we are playing TPC Stadium and Greyhawk. Wanted to make sure I didn't double dip given all of the great courses.

Totally agree. We've played out in Vegas the last 4 summers and the dry heat out there is a lot more tolerable than the 100% humidity here in Houston.

Makes for great value for those people who can take the dry desert heat during summer months. I've never had an issue with the Vegas courses being in poor condition (lack of water, course dried out, etc.) so I assume Scottsdale will be the same.

Golf has been excellent. Scores have been decent, although I blew a shot at my 3rd ever round in the 70's at Troon North. Glad all three rounds were under 90.

Scottsdale, Az:
WeKoPa, Saguaro Course: 87; 43/44
Troon North, Pinnacle Course: 83; 38/45

Welches, Ore:
The Courses on Mt. Hood: 89; 46/43

Troon North is probably the best Golf Couse I've ever played.

The Courses in Oregon had excellent scenery of the mountains, but the course layout sucked (although it was in great condition). Almost every hole was just dead straight. My driver was awful...only hit 3 fairways all day.

I fly home in the morning, and will post some pictures then.

Thanks for posting the update. That's great to hear that the Scottsdale courses were in good condition. We'll be at Troon North as well, but I believe we are playing the Monument course.

I'll let you know how things go for our group. We're looking forward to it.
