Has anyone played these? I am thinking about getting them.

I've played Mizunos for the last 4 years or so. I love the feel, and I hit a lot of good shots with them. However, they are the only clubs I've ever shanked. I don't do it much, but it's enough to stay in my head. I don't even try to hit cuts anymore for fear of the "hosels".

I've contemplated getting some irons that are more forgiving. Well, I hit my bro-in-law's TA7 Gunmetals recently and loved them. I could do whatever I wanted with them, even on the crappy stock shafts. On bad swings, the shots turned out good but there was enough feedback to know what I did wrong.

I can get them new for $250 at Golfsmith, and put on Prject X shafts for $150.

I play the TA5's which are the generation before the 7's.
They're good clubs for mid-handicap players.
Check Ebay as you might get a better deal.
Lot's of golf clubs on Ebay.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think $250 will be hard to beat. These irons were released in 2011; I think the original TA7 was released 8-9 years ago.

I looked on Ebay to see if there were any sets that already had x-stiff Project X or KBS shafts, but did not find anything.

Do you like them a lot?

Yeah. Turned down the chance to get new clubs and just re-gripped them. They are the original TA7s, though. Not the new ones. Not sure if there are any differences.

I have original TA7s that i'm playing right now. They are very forgiving and relatively easy to hit but i am looking for something a little more workable. I may be about ready to sell them if you are interested. 3-Pw with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.

Thanks for the info. I found some new Project X 6.5 (.370) on eBay for $70 for 4i-9i. I've seen online that the TA7 Gunmetals need a .370 parallel tip, but the eBay listing does not mention whether they are parallel or taper.
