I went to the range today and hit a large bucket of balls and measured my clubhead speed with my swing mate meter.
With the Swing Mate speed device, it told me my clubhead speed was 112-121 mph with a driver. I had a Bushnell range finder and shot the trunk of a group of trees at the back of the range at 256 yards. I was consistently flying the ball into the tops of those trees.
Later today, I went to a golf shop to buy some grips and they had the same Swing Mate swing meter in their indoor hitting room. I couldn't even come close to what I was swinging outdoors earlier. I only swung 99-108 mph indoors.
Which is right? Why such a massive difference? Does the psychological effect of hitting inside slow you down?
My carry distance is about 275 on average with a well hit driver.
