Last night in Hutto three kids were struck by a Camaro travelling at an estimated 110 m.p.h. in a 40 zone. The Hutto kid that was driving told me last night that as he was making his turn the Camaro slammed into them. He had no clue it was travelling that fast.
The three kids and the passenger in the Camaro were taken to Brack.
One of the Hutto youths was a baseball player of mine, and all three are friends of my son.
The driver of the Camaro was killed instantly and his passenger was in surgery this morning when we left at around 4 a.m. They were trying to stabalize him after removing aboiut two feet of his lower intestines.
Two of the kids from Hutto were in serious condition and we are about to go find out the results of their surgeries.
Several beer bottles and cans were found in the Camaro's wreckage. Pending a toxicology report, it appears the driver was intoxicated.
