and it'll be enough to bribe the Dean at 'tard for a diploma.
True story:
After the graduation ceremony, we (graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences) were supposed to go to Holden Hall to pick up our diplomas. I lead my proud parents on the short walk from the Coliseum. We wait in a 15 minute line only to find out there's a problem...they don't have mine. They ask about outstanding parking tickets, library fines, any other money I might owe that might be causing my diploma to be withheld. I had checked and double checked all this sheit weeks in advance.
My parents are looking at me like I'm a jacka$$. We go over to the dean's office and I ask if he would please give me my diploma. He asks the same questions (parking tickets, library fines, outstanding debt), and I tell him I have none....check it yourself. He made me call the "Raider Red" hotline, which tells you if you have outstanding debt. I'm talking to the f'n dean of students and he wants me to call a cartoon character on the phone?????????? I have to hand him the phone as the recording confirms that I'm clear. Before he hands me the diploma, he says that Tech has the right to deny my degree if indeed I have outstanding debt. I told him that my parents had just parted with about $50 Gs over the last few years, so we ain't worried about a few more bucks. That apparently made sense to him and he found my diploma.
That was my last conversation with the administration at Tech.
