I think it does mean something. It means the Big 12 South is tough and is being recognized for it.

How long until MacIII (or some other sip) mentions that they are #2 in the preseason poll? To MacIII, this is equivalent to playing in the BCS Championship game.

Oh...On that note then yes you are correct..I agree the Big 12 is a force but as far as rivarly games between tech,a&m,ut,ou...i do not think that poll matters

So who was the other coach (besides macIII) to vote t.u. number one?

Stoops.

Gap between 16 and 17 is larger than gap between 17 and 21.

Only Big XII teams not mentioned somewhere in the list are OSU, BU, & MU, so the coaches think just about everybody in the Big XII might make some noise (however quiet it might be!).

yeah, they had no effect on who played in the NC game last year.

The most entertaining section is the list of "others receiving votes"

Duke, Washington and Kansas managed to make it in someone's top 25. Those teams had a combined record of 7-26.

What happened to the bit about not having a poll until 4-5 weeks into the season?

Don't give up on a garment just because of a little age.

Mack has stated he thinks USC is #1 until proven otherwise. My bet would be Stoops(helps him fo us to be high) and Lloyd Carr.

I'd think it'd be tressell. It's going to be two guys who will benefit the most from beating us.

What you and your "coach" do in the privacy of your own living room (or locker room) is none of our business.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Fran.

Think about it.....T+1 this year is setting up to be the seminal moment in Fran's tenure at A&M.

At home, Reggie's last home game...a large portion of the fan base expecting a win for the first time in a long time.

I would say it would behoove him for Texas to be ranked as high a possible entering that game considering what he has riding on it and the possible benefit of beating a highly ranked team in that situation.

Maybe not, but not that hard to imagine it might be him.

The polls never mean jack**** to those who are not rated in the top 5. But take a look at who has won the NC the past few years. Those who started off in the top 5.
