Selected plays from 2004, when Texas was a one dimensional running team,
@Arkansas:
VY to Thomas, 41 yards
VY to Jeffery, 32 yards
Rice:
VY to Thomas, 30 yards
Baylor:
VY to Nate Jones, 36 yards
OU:
VY to Sweed, 32 yards
Tech:
VY to Jeffery, 43 yards
OSU:
VY to Thomas, 28 yards
VY to Sweed, 36 yards
KU:
VY to Jeffery, 40 yards
Michigan:
VY to Scaife, 21 yards
Note that these numbers include no yards-after-catch, only yards in the air. On average, VY completes about one pass per game that spans 25 or more yards through the air. He also completed many passes in the 15-20 yard range but apparently real QB's throw farther than that so I didn't include them. The good news for Texas' opponents is that the majority of the players on the receiving end of those passes are returning this season so that VY can continue not passing down the field to them.
If you are projecting an A&M win based on Texas not passing I think you are going to be rudely awakened to a different reality come T+1.
