The Red Sox send third baseman Bill Mueller and possibly a prospect to the Twins for lefty J.C. Romero and righty Joe Mays. The Red Sox then send Bronson Arroyo and Mays to the Marlins for Burnett and Lowell."

This one's picking up steam fast.

Also, the Yankees are asking for Soriano to come back and move to center. Strange, but true. They don't have the starting pitching prospects the Rangers covet, so I doubt this happens.

Texas is also talking to Detroit about Nate Robertson for Adrian Gonzalez.

I'd take Nate in a heartbeat, we have Teixeira for a while at 1B and Botts is almost ready if we can't sign Tex.

We will sign Tex. Don't even talk like that.

^That's as solid as Modano coming back...grain of salt with Hicks

Heard a horribly disturbing, but not at all surprising, stat the other day. Only one Boros client has ever resigned with his original team. Pretty sure they said it was Varitek.

I'd love to see the Gonzalez for Robertson trade. Robertson is a 27-28 year old lefty with a 3.32 ERA.

Tex is a client of the anti christ and that is given that anti christ clients never resign with the original team.

AGENT, where did you hear the Yanks/Soriano rumor?

Man, that Robertson deal sounds like gold. I can't believe the Tigers would do that though. A young, promising arm for a minor league first baseman? I know Gonzalez is supposed to be pretty good, but wow.

As a somewhat Red Sox fan, I'd have to say I don't really care for that proposed deal. Mueller's a big piece of that team, and was the AL batting champ a couple of years ago. Lowell's on the downside of his career, and is slower than Mueller which says a lot.

I'm a huge Bronson Arroyo fan.

yea good luck resigning tex with boras as his agent. he's this biggest douche in major league baseball and he wont let him resign with texas unless you give him a ridiculous contract.

Well, if they get rid of Soriano, I think that can happen. It's a shame because I'd like to keep that IF together, but there's no way they'll be able to resign Tex if they have to resign Sori as well.

tex is a much better player to build around than soriano. if hicks was smart, he would get rid of soriano now while he can still get some value for him instead of losing him for nothing when the seasons over.

One of the New York papers reported the Sori to Centerfield deal.

Cleveland newspaper also said Indians have offered AA outfielder Brad Snyder and hard throwing AAA reliever.

I want at least one major leaguer for Sori.

I don't like the Cleveland deal personally. I think the prospects are above average, but I don't think they add anything to our farm we don't already have.

I love the Detroit deal and would love to see us get Robertson for Gonzalez. I would also love to see Sori get dealt for a pitcher (Mets want to move Glavine BTW). Then they can proceed with getting Tex locked up until he's 40.

Keep in mind that we have the arbitration rights to Teixeira through 2008.

Also, for Houston fans, there are murmurs of Adam Dunn coming home to you.

The obvious move for Hicks is to unload Sori for the Texiera slush fund, but we'd better get a decent pitcher or middle reliever for him.

Glavine's too old. I don't know if he could handle the heat. I know Atlanta gets hot, but really.

Agent, is this something recent(like in the last few hours) concerning dunn? If not, then im thinking we probably arent going to get him. See baseball board.

If the Sox pull off a deal like that, I'll eat my hat and GAURANTEE back-to-back World Championships this year!

So are the Reds wanting Lane, Astocio, Nieve, AND Backe? No way that deal gets done. Not worth parting with Backe. I would be fine giving up the 1st 3 for Dunn, but definitely not all 4....that is just ridiculous.
txjortsagent
How long do you want to ignore this user?
No way the 'stros do that for Dunn. He strikes out way too much anyway...

Sox are hesitant to take on Lowell, and Twins don't want to give up Mays...they'd rather deal Lohse.

Dunn does strike out a ton, but he gets a lot of walks as well. His career OB% is ~ .380. He usually get more than 100 BB a year, which coupled with his power makes him a pretty big weapon. That is an often overlooked aspect of his game.

That being said that is WAY to much to give. I wouldn't even give up both of those young arms, not to mention Backe.

Nor would I. I'd package Astacio with a prospect or two for Dunn.

Before I say this, let me clarify that this is RUMOR ONLY:

San Francisco has inquired about a principle Soriano for Jason Schmidt deal. Texas would likely have to throw an additional prospect into the loop. ESPN Insider has the Giants at the top of the list for acquiring Soriano though.

You heard it here first.
Buck Naked
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I know the Giants want to get rid of Schmidt, ut why would they want Soriano? They aren't going anywhere, and Soriano is a FA after this year, correct?

That would be a good trade for Texas. What is Schmidt's contract status?

According to T.R. Sullivan of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Rangers have acquired righthanders James Baldwin and Kevin Gryboski. Baldwin had been designated for assignment and placed on waivers by Baltimore, while Texas traded righthander Matt Lorenzo to Atlanta to acquire Gryboski.

Who is Lorenzo?

I'm a Braves fan so I am interested who they traded for.
