Keep it up, compadre! I've been sober for several years now and, while it has been difficult at times, it's well worth it. With everything going on in your life right now, the last thing you need is something that will cloud your mind.

Trust me, once those dreams of drinking pass (which you wake up from terrified thinking you have fallen off the wagon) and your hand stops shaking, it is down hill from there physically. But then again you are still crazy as hell and will be for a long time.

Miracles continue to happen every day. I'm not really an "AA" guy, but they've got it right when they say "one day at a time." That wasn't just a crappy TV show.

My hatred for hangovers far outweighs any enjoyment I get from being drunk.

You can do it. Sunday marked my 2-year anniversary of quitting smoking, which I would imagine is equally difficult to your struggle. It's hard...but each passing day just gets you further and further beyond it.

The easy part...just don't take another drink...ever.

Before long, you will think about it less and less and less. Trust me...it will get easier and easier.

Hang in there, ce, I KNOW it's a ***** to stay sober every day!! We're with you.

It was very hard at first, but when you look into a child's eyes and understand that you are one of the only things standing between him and ruination it tends to straighten a person up. And this coming from a guy that the first time I tried to quit had to go to a detox center. This is a journey that I would not wish on anyone and it is one that I will never forget. Unfortunately, in order for me to be the man God wanted He had to crush me first. It was the only wa I would wake up.

Its tough for me. Every moment I lie awake sober, I can't get the memories out of my head. I need alcohol and drugs. I'd hate to see what my life was like without them.
