The MLB All-Star voting process is a joke. The starter at 3B for the NL was on the DL for a big portion of this season, yet he garners more votes than Ramirez, Ensberg and Glaus. Sometimes the All-Star game looks like a big popularity contest, and to think that the outcome now determines home field for the World Series. What a joke.

wasn't scott rolen out half of the first half? the guy has 5 jacks and batting about .225. yeah he is deserving.

I wish some of those guys would step up and say they are not worthy of the all-star game. I guess until there are not all-star based incentives in their contracts they won't.

The game is supposed to be for the fans.

The managers don't have any say on who goes? The selection is entirely based upon fan participation? We don't leave selecting a president to the people's vote - shouldn't there be a baseball electoral college created to prevent this kind of tragedy?
