This is true...

You want to talk basketball, then talk. Don't just throw out lame "Dallas fans are getting owned" statements becuase you think the Rockets are the hottest team in the league right now (which they aren't) will carry them through.

the rockets arent the hottest team in the league by any means. However you idiots up north seem to think that yao sucks and that this team is only about tmac. Sorry to burst your bubble but tmac in orlando was a one man show. This rockets team has learned how to play with injuries just like dallas has. I think that these guys have finally figured out how to play without juwan. This is going to be a great series IMO but to honestly say some of the things coming out of your arrogant yankee mouths is just plain stupid.

Go and look at some of the teams the rockets have lost to and it doesnt compare to probably most teams in the west. This team has had trouble getting up for the bad teams. However they have been playing well against the top teams in the league since the david wesley trade. It will be interesting to see how they handle dirk. If the officiating is good then this series is a toss up in game seven.

I don't claim to speak on behalf of all Mavs fans and I sure as hell didn't say it was a one-player team. But, top to bottom, I don't think Houston can beat Dallas in a series right now. That's not a flame or an insult, that is my opinion. We'll see what happens.

I think Dampier can do enough to keep Yao from being a force.

Nobody on Houston's roster can match up with Dirk.

The Mavs' bench, especially with Stack and Van Horn is better than what the Rockets can throw out there.

The Mavs defense is far improved. Maybe not enough to win it all, but enough in this series.

Now Im all for hating on Dallas, but to call them yankees is a little much. Dallasites are a lot of things, but filthy, liberal, bloodsucking Yankees is not one of them.

Nobody can match up with dirk, and nobody can match up with tmac. Its the other players that are going to determine the rest of the series. You have to realize the dikembe will most likely split time with yao and this could pose a problem for dallas. How are you going to handle the defensive energy and overall hustle he has been bringing. He is the one that has really stepped up his play over our last five games. I think he realizes his window is closing and that he may not have a better chance of contending than this year. Wesley will play great defense and depending on which sura shows up will determine that match up. John barry give us great energy and at times compliments tmac very well. Yao will have a few good games so much as he stays out of foul trouble. We pose more problems for dallas than you think. Its just a matter of how we go about dealing with dirk and what his game brings to the table.

Which is exactly why I predict Dallas in 5.

Compare the remaining rosters, and tell me who has the better team. Try to be honest.

Dallas in 7....should be a great series

5 games, maybe more. Series won't be that interesting as H-town will be bent over.

Rockets saying this series goes the distance are foolish. Mutumbo doesn't even play a role in this series. I'll give you that if we had an inside game. We don't rely on the inside game. Our bench is better, our overall talent is better. Mcgrady is a great talent but often times he tries to do too much and I think that will get him into trouble. I don't see this going past 5.

btw, i think the series depends on yao. mcgrady is going to score, but so is dirk so they both cancel eachother out. the mavs dont have anybody that can match up with yao when he's playing at his best. the problem is that he hardly ever plays at his best. if yao grows a sack and actually plays up to his potential the way he has in about 1/3 of the games this year then i say rockets in 6 or 7. but if he doesnt play well i would say mavs in 6.

Come on man it's not arrogance. The rockets are barely in the 5 seed. They could have been just as easily a 7 seed. The rockets have made great strides but do you honestly think they are on Dallas' level yet? Why wouldn't I predict the Mavs to win. No expert will pick the rockets to win the series either. It's not just Mavs' fans.

The Mavs had 3 key players out in one of those games. They may or may not have won. But I believe they win if those players are playing. Most important, Dirk didn't play.

Memphis split with San Antonio, so I guess they will take out the Spurs according to your logic.

Read my original post, what I said was that 5 games was a little much. Dallas could very well win this series, but at 5 games you act like Houston is an 8 seed and you're a 1.

I think that you guys are underestimating the Rockets. The Mavs are an excellent team and have a real shot of making it to the finals, but the Rockets are not an afterthought.

Dallas vs Houston in a playoff scenario will be great fodder on this site during the "offseason".....

Avery Johnson has this team playing at a very high level right now more than Nelson did at any point this season. Watching every game I can I have seen the Mavs make huge strides defensively. It's not just a lay-up and dunk fest against them now. The rockets deserve credit for the improvement they have made. I have not seen them be consistent enough to make me believe they will give the Mavs trouble. I think the games will be close, but the series will not. Both teams are coming in playing extremely well. Playoffs are a whole different story and either team could step up. I'm putting trust that Avery has been there before and knows what it takes to win in the playoffs.

Yes the mavs have been more consistent throughout the season however if you scrap the horrible start the rockets had then these two teams are even if not giving the edge to houston. The rockets started out 6-11 and since have made huge changes to the roster. Since those changes have been made i seriously doubt you can make arguements that one team is better than the other.
You dallas fans can talk all you want about the defense they have been playing lately but the rockets have been solid defensively all year. This team is very versatile and very deep as is dallas. Get out of your time machines and realize that houston is as good as any team in the west right now.

that is the most ignorant comment i have ever heard. Tmac has scoring titles and is in the top 7 in the league in scoring. Seriously get a clue before posting. Who exactly do you have to cover tmac. Ryan bowen has a better chance of neutralizing dirk than any of your players covering tmac.

Josh Howard can cover T-Mac, in fact he has. The two game that we played Houston when Howard was out where T-Macs big games against us. Howard has effectively shut down elite players in his short career, including Pierce, Kobe, T-Mac, and even Lebron in the game in Dallas this year.

Marquis Daniels is a very good defender as well.

Houston has no one that can even have wet dreams about guarding Dirk.

tmac was only held under under 30 once. So you were saying what about somebody holding him. Seriously think before you run you mouth off. The only time you held him under 30 was when he had no help from the one and two guards and before this team had made any moves and before sura was fully recovered from his injury.
