Looks like Chizik is Mack's #1 choice. And who the hell could blame him with the way Auburn's D played this year?

DC @ Auburn -> Co-DC @ TEXAS seems like only a slight improvement job-wise. But perhaps he would be banking on the increased media exposure that would come with coaching at THE University.

If he's looking to move up in the coaching world it is difficult to argue with our recent track record on that front.

Chizik or Bedford; take the first one that bites and let's get it moving.

One other thing to note is that Auburn had some badarse DE play, and UT is looking for a replacement DE coach... I know the Stanford guy is rumored to be the frontrunner, but I'm sure Chizik's DE coach (Price, I think) would be looked at if he wasn't promoted at Auburn.

I'm hoping Mack offers him the full DC slot and Akina his walking papers. I am tired of our underperforming defensive backfield.

I wish that some how we could get Jerry Gray, but I know that that probably can't happen.

Going from NFL DC to NCAA Co-DC is not a possibility within the realm of consideration. Unless, of course, said coach is being unfairly scapegoated.

is a little over the top. In the minds of the rest of the world, Auburn = Texas. Going from having full control of the defense to sharing control of the defense is a slight downgrade at best.

UT DC got a head coaching job after one year. Auburn DC had a better defense and is shopping around for another DC spot.

I'd say the UT DC spot is more attractive.
