Looks like Sorsby is out of options for NCAA and NFL this year. Maybe he'll try Canada?

I am not a fan. I hope he gets the help he needs. Heck, I hope he'll enroll at Tech and let Tech help him as has been offered.

But I am good with this outcome.

I don't think he will enroll at Tech. I think he will try to play in some other league if I had to guess. He has no incentive to go to college without playing football.

He is getting what he deserves for what he did…. I hope he beats his addiction and wish him well but there are consequences for one's actions…..

Probably Lloyd Jones. Hammond has been cleared for 7x7 drills and could potentially start in game 1, but I don't have any insider info about that. I will be interested to see how it goes. I sorta hope that Hammond might see a series or two in the first couple of games but Tech won't need him. Challenge is that a much improved Houston team is coming to Lubbock in week 3, so it would be nice for Hammond to have some reps before then.

Tech's crop of amazing receivers are asking the same thing.

Cameron Dickey has both D1 and QB experience.

Am I the only one who is tired of hearing "I hope he gets the help he needs"? God made him an athlete and he made a conscious decision to do things he knew were wrong. Wrong. Not on the edge but flat out wrong to bet on your own team. What a coddled individual who thought he was above it. Let's save our "help" for those that truly deserve it. I hear you, but I also have extended family members who have wrecked their lives with addiction... a couple with booze, one I can think of with drugs, and one specifically with gambling.

The guy with the gambling issue wound up having to move back in with his parents in his 40s, and it cost him his marriage, his kids, and his job. He spent years in different rehabs and is on the mend, but still struggles with it. Brilliant guy. Engineer.

I don't personally have addiction issues, so it's hard for me to relate. And I am of the opinion as I have stated here several times that Sorsby brought this on himself with his poor choices. But there are lots of people that seem to have significant issues with disconnecting whatever dopamine rush they get from gambling and the responsible choices they should make.

I think it's not a bad thing to simultaneously say that he is getting what he deserved as a consequence of his poor choices, and that I also hope he gets whatever support he needs to move on and not make those same choices in the future. But that's just me.

i feel bad for him too, but to think he can make thousands of bets and some on his own team and that he would get a pass and be able to play without any consequences is naive....

I hope the NCAA now looks at Cinci which knew he had this issue when he was playing and still played him.....

Why do you feel bad for him? He's an adult, being paid to play a sport, and made some really poor decisions. He's finally being held responsible for his actions. This is what adulthood looks like. Maybe he figures it out, maybe he doesn't, but feels has nothing to do with it.

I'll play: TCU hasn't beat us since the Nixon administration. You're 5-8 against TCU this century.
