"Based on our research and understanding of the Pac-12 priorities and on the information provided by Navigate, there is a clear No. 1 option for the Pac-12 in an expansion universe.

And it's not a member of the Big 12.

It's Houston."

Faulty logic. Houston is not an AAU member and brings nothing to the PAC. Utah and Colorado already recruit the Houston area. Tech would make more sense if they upped the academics and had greater access to the PUF.

" Based on the dearth of obvious options."

All you need to know about this article and the loser who posted it. There are no viable options.

It is, Sully. Utah beat Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl with a Texas quarterback. This year's Utah squad had 12 Texans last time I checked.

Sadly, UH cannot fill their stadium of 40,000 seats. They have not been able to afford even local advertising for the athletic program in four years. The big-money alums are few and far between, and the mid-money donors are non-existent. There's not much alumni support - perhaps as a result of no campus housing for 40 years - didn't indoctrinate them as students.. Both TCU and Baylor, small private schools, have more athletic donations and better attendance.

The school recognizes the problem, and is trying to fix it, but it is going to take 30 years to grow a new crop of alumni.
