Lol. Seventh choice.

Pierce is a really good coach.
Not a big name like they were hoping for but I'm sure he'll do well there.
All the egg on their face sure has been fun.

Didn't they get their OC from Tulane?
Apparently Tulane is Texas' coaching farm system.

Coach Pierce was my former high school baseball coach at St. Pius X. He's a good guy, and I think he'll do well, but it's a pretty big leap from Sam Houston to Tulane to t.u. in five seasons.

Hhmm, guess the buy-out clause had a loop hole, or was not as high as rumored. Hard to believe the sips would pay a million up front for a baseball coach.

This is an interesting clolololololol op given his current coach choked and couldn't make it to the CWS given the lofty ranking and hosting a Super Regional to a team from the Big Dumpster Fire.

Pierce sounds like a good choice. We'll see.

It's NOT because good coaches chose to take a raise to stay in their current situations, but because of the "we're Texas" mentality that you could get whoever you wanted. Clearly you can't.

Wait.
Not sure if you have but plenty of your fans are claiming all these other coaches were never interviewed or offered?
You're claiming tu made them say no.
Which is it?

Listening to local sports talk radio in southern Louisiana - they're giving the horns a pretty hard time. Brought up, in no uncertain terms, that LSU head coach had been offered the job, mentioned the coach search took 31 days and they are predicting that Tulane will be able to upgrade their coach in short order.
Also interviewed Greg Diechmann and asked him how the team felt when the news broke that tu was after their coach. He said he was skeptical that Paul Mainieri would even entertain the offer.

Yeah, I think they actually got a good coach, but their arrogance would not allow them to simply look at someone like Pierce from the get go which is what they should have done.

I think this shows how mismanaged the whole baseball firing and hiring has been.
With Perrin this was the best they could do.
At least it's over and he can get to work on next year.

Actually, this a good move...dammit. Pierce is a really good coach.
