... we will be serenaded by all the Horns thumping their chests bragging about "all-time records" against the Sooners. However, at this time, while acknowledging the Horns winning records against most of their regular competition, a few items should be pointed out:

1) Utex owns two wins against my alma mater SWOSU (1926 and 1927). Does it feel good knowing that some of your "legendary" wins came against colleges that are just now NCAA division II?

2) Utex owns four wins (1897, 1898 twice, and 1920) and one loss (1919) against my dad's alma mater Phillips University, which has been defunct since 1998? A loss to a theological seminary? Bet you're REAL proud of that one!

3) Many, many of Utex's all-time wins came against other such fierce competition as Army posts, the Houston Town Team, and high schools. In one of their undefeated years, they didn't have a coach! Perhaps they ought to consider going that route again.

4) If considering post-1950 as the "modern era", Utex is 26-24-3 against OU. OU leads 7-3 in national championships.

5) If considering post-Utex's last national championship (1970), OU is 16-14-2 against Utex and has four national championships.

6) Finally, who else besides Utex has an edible mascot?

a) BU = you'd have to be awfully hungry to eat a bear.
b) TAMU = Collies are people. Not edible.
c) TTU = Red Raiders are people. Not edible.
d) OU = Sooners are people. Not edible.
e) OSU = Cowboys are people. Not edible.
f) KU = Eating a Jayhawk would be like eating a crow.
g) KSU = Never ate a member of the cat family, so can't judge how tasty they'd be.
h) MU = Never ate a member of the cat family, so can't judge how tasty they'd be.
i) ISU = Big wind. Not edible.
j) NU = Cornhuskers are people. Not edible.
k) CU = Buffaloes (bison) are quite tasty.
l) UT = Longhorns are quite tasty.
m) SWOSU = Bulldogs are people. Eating Brandy (the name of our mascot) would be like eating Reveille.

Longhorn beef is about as edible as bear. You need young teeth.

I will agree that Phillips and SWOSU suck like OU, only a little less.

Our biggest problems are the University of Chicago (0-1), Randolph Field (0-1-1) and Colorado College (0-1). They don't have teams anymore, so we can't catch up. We're 0-1 with Harvard, but they won't schedule us. I do think we'll keep our lead on Wabash (1-0), Southwest Oklahoma Teachers (2-0) and OU (55-38-5).

Are you living vicariously through the Sooners like the rest of Oklahoma? I though the academics at OU were bad. I can't imagine how bad they are at SWOSUROFLLMAOWTF-Arrowhead.

I forgot your one and only win over Transylvania (48-0 in 1910). Transy is also a theological seminary. Really impressive record there, picking on tiny bible colleges.

Sewanee beat us three times. Those little seminary schools are tough. We got'em back though. We lead 4-3.

Yup, OU's got some of their wins thanks to the same Phillips University and perhaps even worse, Kingfisher College ... but sooners tend not to brag about series wins over no-longer-existant schools.

Simple, guys. Let me try a little logic on you, in small doses so you won't get too confused.

1) I'm not a Sooner wannabe.
2) I have followed Sooner football since 1957 ... and anyone will have to admit that in those 45 years, OU has had a program worth following.
3) I went to a small directional school in Weatherford OK ... but it had the appropriate degree plan for what I wanted to do and have done for the last 33 years.
4) Hornfans tend to be abnormally pompous, therefore easy to poke fun at.
5) Utex doesn't have a comparable site. They'd take any attempt at humor as an attack on Utex and ban me.

7) Aggies for the most part dislike Utex enough to join in the humor.

And finally, I love seeing sips explode when they lose to OU. You'll never see one admit "OU beat us because they're a better team" ... the excuses will run rampant, and all of them full of hot air.

Perhaps I should take that back. LonghornDub seems to be an honorable man, so I suspect he'll be the first and perhaps only sip poster on this or any other board who'll say "OU beat us because they're a better team" after next Saturday.

But I won't say it's because they have a better team. Better coaches - yes.

It's always been hard to figure out which is the truth: Oklahoma, sucking so much it keeps Texas from drifting out to sea or Texas diggin' in it's heels which keeps Oklahoma where it is. Either way, Oklahoma sucks mightily.

KSU had about 4500 fans at our game and they seemed to be nice folks. I didn't see any "Tuck Fexas" teeshirts, and they weren't belligerent. Talked to several and they seemed to like Austin and enjoy themselves. I'm sure they enjoyed it more four years ago.

Swosu, or whatever the hell his name is, practicing the ultimate time machine smack. That is, he wants to re-write time itself. This is akin to the A&M argument that Columbus discovered America when women were admitted and this was when football games actually counted. How many games did the women actually win? For the okies, it is all a matter of approximately WWII, or the approximate time that most of them discovered mobile homes.

Even the small school types hate the tsips.
That renews my faith in the future.

Just to show how much of an idiot SWOSU really his: the majority of horns actually believe we'd be lucky to beat the land thieves this week. How much more do you need for Horns to say?

Anyways, the truth is, the ou coaching staff is better, hands down, which makes the a better team. If all players switched teams, ou would still win...hell, we'd find out that Roy Williams really is unstoppable.
