Yes you are right, I am a third generation Cowboys fan, it's not really an option in my family.

I moved to Houston when I was young so started rooting for the 'Stros and Rockets, but of course kept my Silver and Blue allegiance.

ok that's good, yeah if I wasn't a Cowboys fan I'm pretty sure my dad would've disowned me. His uncle was the business manager for the Cowboys back in the 70s hey-day and he got to go to all the games and so on, so it's pretty deep in my family too.

The cowboys are in first and a&m is looking up to Baylor in the Football standings. May Tuna & Leach have mercy on BI's soul.

Cubs win.(Now we have to listen to "We haven't been to a World Series since 1908" for another week)

BUT

Pudge almost singlehandly knocks the Giants out of the playoffs. (Now we don't have to hear the Barry Bonds-doing-it for-his-Dad-storyline anymore)

AND

The Cowboys look like a real team again and Emmitt "Diamond" Smith gets stuffed and slinks away like a bad puppy.

I have to give this weekend a B-

Could someone please post the NFL standings and highlight the Cowboys and Texans' records ? BI only posts it when the Houston team has a better record.

The Cowboys did their best to keep me from jumping off our balcony this weekend. Obviously the debacle in lubbock happened. I'm also a diehard Braves fan. Double whammy. If you want to know what it's like to be a Braves fan, imagine all the Cubs playoff failures of the past century concentrated into a 13 year span, with only one bright spot. Cubs fans think they've suffered, but at least the Cubs space it out.

But the Cowboys, they look pretty good, and I'm putting my hopes in them this year. I know they're not going to the Super Bowl, but I think they're a legit playoff contender. Parcells is a genius.
