Nice catch. Chimp is right; the Red zone defense is very effective against Baylor.

The problem, Chimp, is that Baylor will have multiple 35+ yard TDs.

If they get to the red zone every trip and only kick FG's, they'll end up winning by approximately however many FG's they kick.

Not sure he realizes it, but ut doesnt have an offense.

If you let them score quicker, then you can get the ball back and score more!

Baylor probably scores a smaller % of their TDs from inside the red zone than any other B-5 team.

Everyone has forgotten the walk on starting at free safety because the last two teams they played with a pulse were BYU, who wanted to run it 40 times, and UCLA, who lost their QB in the 1st quarter and decided to ram it right up their asses. They have no idea what is in store for that slow ass white boy because Baylor's offense is basically "everyone go deep and I might hand it off every now and then."

Guys like Chip are the reason so many coaches act so frustrated during press conferences. They know they are answering questions and taking criticism from guys who know absolutely nothing about football, but think they do.

Baylor fumbling or throwing picks inside of their own red zone will be the key to the sip offense if the KU game is any indication. The ESPN drive chart against Kansas shows the whorns scoring 0 points when starting outside of the Jayhawk's 30 yard line. Torbush.

This is going to totally wreck all confidence in Chollie.

The sips had some semblance of an offense last season. This year they needed 4 turnovers to break 20 against Kansas. The putrid sip offense is going to give Baylor way too many chances even if the sip d is able to get some stops (and that's going to be tough with a defensive backfield manned by walk-ons).

So the best defense is the OK state 10 yd line..?

Agree with your observation: it feels very similar.

Anything is possible in college football.

It would require the sip OL to take a quantum step forward. The sips need to run the ball effectively and chew up clock, and their OL is the key to that.

Most likely, that won't happen. Iowa State is probably a better team than the sips.

My impression is: baylor is not as good this year on offense or defense as they were last year. Based on their ISU game, they ought to be ranked around #18-20. They've done nothing yet to earn a ranking above that.

Last year, Greg Robinson devised a defensive game plan that held baylor to 30 points. And that game was in Waco.

Can Vance Bedford do as well as Greg Robinson? He never has before.

Under Briles, baylor has been a considerably easier team to beat on the road than in waco. On the road last year Baylor barely escaped ksu and tcu, and the carebears got pummeled by ucf and okie-st.

So yeah, IF the new sip coaches are not idiots, this game should be closer than last year's 30-10 score.

Thus far, though: OC Major Applewhite and DC Greg Robinson >>> OC Shawn Watson and DC Vance Bedford.

Think of it this way... if the unthinkable happens, at least it will shut up the Baylol idiots and will give Texsa a huge head and have them talking playoff and make them think they can actually stay in the OU game past noon the following week...

I don't see how there is a way to not be happy about the results of this game.

If Baylor wins big, the wheels may fall of the wagon in Austin. Every Baghdad Bob on the horn payroll will have to work overtime to try and control the damage, and even then, Charlie's leash will get a lot shorter and a lot tighter. Some of the assistants won't make the full season.

If it is a close Baylor win or the horns actually do win, then all the little bandwagon horns will start circling the wagons around the little 3* general and confidently proclaim he is taking the program in the right direction. It will take some of the heat off this year, and will probably result in him getting at least a third recruiting class landed before he gets his walking papers.
