Sumlin is hell bent on building a goliath of a program at A&M. We're making him a very rich man in the process. He's not going anywhere. The University loves him, Aggieland loves him, the fans love him. He's having a helluva good time too. He aint going anywhere until he makes it to the top and even then, who's to say he doesn't have even bigger plans at A&M?

Sumlin makes $5 million a year (not to mention a $5 million buyout (which is a lot for even rich schools) to hire him). Also, he basically runs the show here and does not even report to the AD. He likes the state he lives in and recruits in.

What other job in America is going to give him the money and freedom he has at A&M?

Bellechick is no. 1 @ $7.5M.

I'd be willing we could at least sweeten his deal with another mil or two a year with our SEC Network Money.

Jerry Jones would have to make him the highest paid coach in the NFL for him to even consider leaving. And even then, he has a pretty good deal going for him here. Money, recruiting ties, high profile classes coming in, new facilities, enough walking around money to hire quality assistants. Not sure you'd risk pulling a Spurrier or Saban and washing out in 2 years -- even though I think he is capable of success at that level.

When you have to hope a coach leaves so you can be better than that team, that's also when you know you've lost.

When your recruiting strategy revolves around fashion design, Capri pants, and cheap access to gerbils, that's also when you know you've lost.

I forget how many days/years we went without posting a loss in any sport over the waning years of the big 12 vs tech. But hang onto those memories of the leach years. That's all the tards will have to keep them warm at night in the years ahead. Kind of like tu watching endless replays of the 2005 rose bowl. Great accomplishment but damn, what about the future?

A&M won a championship in the Big12 while Tech never even played in the title game, ergo A&M was more successful than Tech in the Big12.
