Geez, 24 points is a lot of points, especially the way we played SMU last year. Of course, the oddsmakers are taking in account that last year the game was played in Dallas but heck, we all know that Dallas is practically a home game for Tech with all the alumni in the city.

Should I take the 24 points?

i'm staying away from that game....too many question marks and unknowns as far as personnel for both teams.

Tramps #1 and #2 rules of betting:

1. NEVER bet on a Texas Tech game of any kind.

2. NEVER bet on the first game of the season.

I think Tech hangs 55+ on the Mustangs. Leach may be drunk but he can light up the scoreboard.

RAMF, I have the game going to Tech 48-27. Leach's offense will put up points, but so will SMU.

I've decided I'm staying away from this game. 20.5 points I'd take, but 24 is too much.

Well, yet ANOTHER Def. Lineman got carted off to the M*A*S*H ward.

I don't know if we have enough healthy players to fill out a 2-deep on Defense now.

I would take SMU to cover the spread at this point.

Tramp,
My Lubbock born and raised, Father-in-law would agree with your Rule #1. He mentions snatching defeat from the jaws of victory alot when referring to Tech from the 1930's to today. Watching Tech games is not good for his health since the bypass.

I think y'all will thump the ponys, but I would not place money on it.

Big 12-0, I know you are tempted, but keep your money. Cheer tech all you want, but first game of the season with a new QB, the natural disaster offense or whatever you call it may not be up to form yet.

You have better odds with online blackjack.

Agreed with Tramp.

I think the line is high due to the fact that people know Leach will run the score up on any team given the chance, ala New Mexico last year. Not only does he not call the dogs off, he actually seems to try to open the offense up even more.

I am teasing Tech down to 17.5 with another blowout like OU or Miami.

And I disagree on betting on Tech as a bad rule - I loaded up on the "Bowl" last year and it paid off handsomely. They, like some other schools in the conference, are pretty tough to play at home.

Surely you're talking about the Nuclear Assault Offense, N.A.O. for short.
