I really have to congratulate Chip Brown for taking glowing practice reports to new levels today:
Anyway, since we don't have any mention of any PASSING statistics from Young, which you might be interested in since he is the QUARTERBACK, I'm guessing this scrimmage wasn't exactly a breakout for Young.
I was even more interested since our reports are just about non-existant. Not that I need them, but there just isn't that much to read about A&M with the tight control over the media.

quote:So... having fights in practice is a goood thing? Maybe I'm wrong, but to me, a "scuffle" would be something that happens after the play, since if it were during the play, you would call it a "hit." What are they doing, going around congratulating people for trying to pick fights with their teammates? Hope they play how they practice. Those 15 yard penalties really hurt.
A scrimmage in Royal-Memorial Stadium that drew praise from its coach for a couple scuffles, featured another solid performance from quarterback Chance Mock after he injured his throwing thumb on a lineman's helmet.
quote:Ok, actually, that does sound pretty good. The thing I don't get is, with a 5 for 5 run, why don't you tell what is numbers were for the whole scrimmage? They have to be decent.
Mock struggled early. But after injuring his thumb, he went 5-for-5, including a touchdown to Tony Jeffery on a no-huddle drive.
quote:OK, this really was the part that caused me post. Seriously, talk about Baghdad Bob. "His ONLY miscue was an INTERCEPTION that Cedric Griffin RETURNED 42 YARDS FOR A TOUCHDOWN?!?!?" That is like saying "Napoleon's only miscue was a minor loss at Waterloo," or something. Talk about understatement.
Backup quarterback Vince Young ran 40 yards for a score on a designed misdirection play around left end. His only miscue was an interception against zone coverage that Cedric Griffin returned 42 yards for a touchdown.
