RANKING THE STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE (2009 Bowl teams in parentheses)
1) Texas (8): Non-league game with UCLA could be intriguing but rest of non-league
slate is soft. ‘Horns must travel to Lubbock, Lincoln and Manhattan plus UT also has fixture game in Dallas with OU.
2) Oklahoma (9): Sooners have nine bowl teams on schedule, including three non-conference foes. Facing Texas in Dallas presents usual challenge but OU’s other toughest road game is a trip to Missouri.
3) Texas Tech (8): Season opener with SMU could be nice test and Tech also faces Houston to end the regular season. Red Raiders host Texas, OSU and Missouri. They travel to Iowa State, OU, Colorado and Texas A&M.
4) Texas A&M (7): Facing Arkansas at neutral site will be a good test. Aggies host Tech, OU and Nebraska while biggest road test figures to be season finale at in-state rival Texas.
