My mom has been a broker since the 80s (almost exclusively commercial) and she is about ready to hand off some of the day-to-day business to me, but I'm an engineer, not a realtor.

What does it take to get a real estate license these days, and what would you guys recommend as far as in person or online. I do have a day job, so this would be on the side.

AceableAgent is a good one for online, but there are plenty out there. CE Shop is another. Champions online. Sounds like your situation definitely lends to an online, at your own pace set-up. It's not difficult. Just the matter of getting it knocked out.

From the moment you purchase the class, you have one year to complete it. It's 180 hours, so you can plan your timetable. Good luck! Some of the classes are real beatings. Haha
