The Kettle in CS is closing doors for repurposing as FW real estate who owns the land-building want to change it.
I'm curious what are they changing it to?

This makes me sad... this was our breakfast spot in College. We always make a point to eat there when we come in for the home games.

So many memories at that place.
- After Corps Brass as a fish
- After Junior Yellout as a fish
- After Sophmore Year Nuke Run
- Countless times in the middle of the night post north gate.

You'll be missed dear friend.

Funny that in 4 years of college and the 35 years my family has lived in CS, I've never been to The Kettle. Golden Corral was always my breakfast chow down spot.

I do remember Pat Olsen doing ads there in the early 90's.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Nothing like the smell of cigarettes and pancakes.

For the olds, in the 70's, wasn't Kettle on University, half block west of Texas, or was that a Waffle House?

It was in that location when I was in school in the early 90s.

Class of '04 here. I don't think that Kettle was opened when I was here (moved here in '01). But the building and Kettle sign were definitely there when I was in school. It was around where the stand alone Century Square ER is now.

Had two loacations. One on University and one on Texas.

I used to run into Pat Olsen at the Texas Ave one.

He was such a nice man and put up with my study break questions.

That's super sad I spent a lot of time at that Kettle. Lots of fond memories

In the late 90s, they had all you can eat pancakes. All you can eat for any college student is enticing.
