Does anyone have a recommendation on a lender for a land purchase in either Northern New Mexico or Southern Colorado? We've been looking for a while now and are planning a visit in the coming weeks to see several options. We've never purchased land before so not sure what the best way would be to qualify for a loan. I was thinking it would be similar to a home purchase and need to go through the application process like we've done before to get qualified for a certain amount.

Some details, we are looking at raw land in the range of 3-30 acres and $30k-199k. The goal would be to eventually place a small cabin on the land for family vacations and potentially renting out via AirBNB or VRBO. But we would not initially be building anything.

I recently used Capital Farm Credit. Their rate is high though but you become a "shareholder" and get cash back every year. I've heard Prosperity Bank does land loans also. You may get a better rate with them.

I would talk to local banks in the areas of interest.

Are you using realtors? If so ask them. They know where the money is locally
