Has anyone had artificial grass put in their yard? I'm considering it and would be interested in some thoughts from anyone who's tried it and recommendations on Dallas-area (northern suburbs) installers.

Just put in concrete and get VR goggles. Arty grass is too much $$#.

How would that affect resale? Can't imagine buying a house with fake grass.

Seeing it more and more. Personally was ready to do anything but real grass around the pool.

Best thing we ever did, it looks great, way better than actual grass, you don't immediately notice except for, damn the yard looks good

I could see it being nice around a pool.

But where does the dog go?

Well, my stupid mutts seem to prefer the patio and pool deck to the real grass in the side yard or the artificial stuff. Not my favorite part of dog ownership.

Turf Rocks should start my backyard this week, I'll let you know how it goes.

It was super expensive compared to grass but once you take into account maintenance, water, and sprinkler system I think it is one of the best decisions we made. Make sure they put down the best weed barrier. One neg is during the summer it gets Hot and you need to water it down or wear shoes.

Other than that, well worth it and would do again. I think it is a positive for resale. If they don't like it then can put in real grass which is not much more than resoding the yard.

We don't regret it for 1 second. We put it b/w our house and the pool so you see it from any window looking into the backyard.

1. Beautiful year round
2. No grass clippings in the pool
3. Our dogs used different parts of the yard for business and fortunately didn't switch to the turf. They make turf designed for pets however if there's an area your dogs use regularly as their toilet.
4. We've had no heat issues but admittedly don't walk barefoot on it often.

Who would you recommend using for turf installation in the BCS area?

We installed about two years ago. Golden Retriever doesn't mind it at all, and has never relieved itself on the putting green area. Best part is no more dirty or muddy paws when it rains.

We have been very happy with it.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see more and more if it for front yards as well

The turf rocks look intriguing. I have a small section of grass above one section of my backyard retaining wall (maybe 200 sq ft). We essentially have it for the dogs to run right out the patio and do their things. Curious if anyone has experience with their pups using it.

Turf Rocks will finish my job up tomorrow. For dogs they put down a different fill that is good for doggie droppings and it's fine as long as it's only couple small or one large dog. The long turf is a bout $8 a sqft and and putting green was a few dollars more.
