I'm fairly new to the mortgage business in the Houston area. I wanted to see what networking events other real estate professionals attend around Houston? I've been to a number of events through different organizations, and obviously some are more beneficial than others. Which ones have yall seen the most benefit from, and/or enjoy the best?

Any thoughts or recommendations would be much appreciated!

What type of loans do you do?

We do residential mortgage loans. Obviously we help with the big 4 (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA), but also have a large number of portfolio loans for unique situations.

The only residential loans we stay away from are lot loans.

I'm in DFW, so can't speak to Houston, BUT - Connect with local title company marketing reps (sometimes they call themselves biz development) and Insurance Reps. Their job is to connect - and they will know the good events to go to.

Anything in the investor space? Or strictly owner occupied?

I appreciate the advice. I've been working with a few to set up events, but haven't tagged along with them to as many. Need to start doing that more.

We do a good number of investor deals. We have some programs to help them close quickly, so that's helped grow that portion of the business.
