16x48 Cabin for sale (768sqft). The home and everything in it (appliances such as dishwasher, stove, etc.) are less than 2 years old. This is not the standard Derksen type building. My wife and I built this from scratch so we would have a place to live while we worked on building our new home ourselves (not contractingbut actually being the person to swing the hammer). We did not want to buy a mobile home, as we wanted something that was solid built and would last for years to come.

We built this with three things in mind:

1. Durability
2. Low maintenance
3. Durability

Construction
o Galvalume metal roof (1x4" lathing under metal for air gap, 30lb roofing felt under lathing, then " plywood, then ceiling joists/rafters, then barn tin on the interior (brand new sheets, not rusty barn tin)
o Metal R panel exterior (Tyvek under metal exterior, " plywood under metal, then studs, then 5/8" thick T1-11 interior). You can hang anything on the wall you'd like and anywhere you want it. Never will have to worry about sheetrock cracks either.
o ZERO particle board used to construct this home
o Double pane low E Argon filled windows
o 3" coated deck crews instead of nails in framing areas such as corners, doors, windows, etc
o 8ft ceiling vaulted to 10ft in the middle (ceiling is on 16" centers, not 24")
o (2) 18,500btu heat pump a/c units cool and heat the home
o Pressure treated sub flooring
o Well insulated (had electrical bills between $60 and $90 with 2 people living in it full time)
o Built on 8ft skids so it can slide on a trailer to be moved
o All of the electrical/gas/water/septic are all hooked up in one spot on the end for ease of moving and connectivity

Kitchen
o Deep stainless steel basin sink
o Whirlpool dishwasher
o Whirlpool gas stove/oven (18,000 btu on the two front large burners (great for making spaghetti and boiling noodles at the same time)
o 8ft wide walk-in pantry with sliding door (can leave open without a door taking up space)
o Good quality kitchen cabinets (all plywood construction, no MDF boxes)
o Laminate wood flooring

Living Room
o Nice wood stove with fresh air inlet (keeps it from pulling warm from inside the house and pushing it out the chimney only to be replaced by cold air) and air circulation fan installed (We don't have to run heaters at all when its going. We did this down to 20 degrees this last freeze and left the heaters off and stayed warm and cozy). It's nice to watch the fire through the glass.
o Laminate wood flooring
o Connection for antenna TV and for HDMI for computer to TV broadcasting
o Wide hallway (40") leading to bedroom and bathroom.
o Plenty of room for couches, furniture, etc.

Bedroom
o Carpeted flooring
o Has main walk in closet (7ft wide x 10ft deep), built in shelves and clothes rods
o Has another additional 8ft walk in closet with built in shelves and clothes rods

Bathroom
o Room for standard sized washer and dryer (shelving located above)
o Large countertop and cabinet (used kitchen cabinet to get the extra height and depth)
o Walk in closet for utility/linen type items
o Framed mirror the full length of countertop
o Linoleum flooring
o Rinnai tankless on demand propane water heater (these are great)

There is probably a ton of little features I am missing or just take too long to type out, but this should give enough of an idea of what went into building this. Please see below for the 3D CAD layout (I did this using SolidWorks) of the home. This would make someone a great turnkey home, weekend getaway cabin, awesome deer lease cabin, or even a nice cabin to rent out and make a little money. We are asking $50,000. Ok, I called around this morning. I called a gentleman by the name of Joe Suarez who moves portable buildings for a living. He said its not a problem to move.

It could be picked up and dropped off for $1500 (depending on mileage)

Here was the price breakdown from Joe:
Cost for 20 miles = $800
Cost for 50 miles= +$200
Cost for two escort trucks = $700 (required @ $350 each)

He did say that depends on being able to get to it and drop it off easy and the roads he'd have to travel. He also said he can set it up (meaning putting it on blocks and leveling for $200). Again, this is all not seeing where the cabin is located or where its being dropped off at, but he was very reasonable. These are ballpark costs without knowing exact details.

He said just let me know when I was ready to move it and he'd be more than happy to do it.

Anyhow, hope this helps out folks who are interested but were concerned with the cost and logistics of moving it.
