The news about China training their AI at a fraction of the use of NVDA chips got me thinking.


What are the investing stages
1 Chips

2. Software like Microsoft

3. At some point I assume it helps most companies or the bottom 493, from Coca Cola to UNH


What else and what sort of time lines are we looking at?

Any thoughts appreciated. I'm looking for general AI discussion from the here and now to.the future short and long term

I'm not saying this is accurate, but it got me thinking abiut the next steps in AI

DeepSeek-R1 performance on par with Open AI-o1!

If R1 is as effective and costs 27X less to build, it’s bad news for semiconductor stocks and a big win for software.

Good thing we are invested in promising software companies incorporating AI.

I was already selling some of my chip stocks for good profit. I may clean house and buy it back if it falls below that line. If not, oh well.

Whats your stock or ETF? I had XLU around 72 but sold around 79. If this China thing drops prices here along the same train of thought of nvda I may get back in. I saw it got back down around 74 recently but I didn't pull the trigger and wish I had

You could look into Nuclear ETF's like NLR. No K-1.

Constellation Energy is building all the plants right now, but it's already 2x'd in the last year and has a growth PE (not a slow, capital intensive one). That ship may have already sailed.

I didn't know there was a term for this. As soon as I heard the deepseek news, I more or less figured we would end up in a situation similar to Jevons paradox. IF it is true and accurate, the AI companies will figure it out, spend the same amount of money and require the same amount of power. This just increases the efficiency and speeds up progress to the next level of AI.

The CCP can also do magic, like how they make their steel way cheaper than everyone else.

yep. and you know who/what owns deep seek? A chinese hedge fund with about 120 employees. What's the opposite of a pump and dump.....because I think that's exactly what's going on here.....

To me it seems that if the DeepSeek approach is so efficient, if you apply that same approach to the bigger more powerful compute power wouldn't you get a massive increase in results?

I wonder how many Chinese LLMs are being trained on the reams of data that's been pirated over the last decade or so…

oh I'm sure all the data is pirated data. But I have zero doubts that the amount of GPUs being used for training is waaaay more that they are saying it took. Those guys have a **** ton more GPUs than they are supposed to have and they are purposely hiding it.
