As the title says I'm looking for someone to talk to and build up a bit of a plan that I can execute on. My background is Finance so I've always been comfortable managing my own funds and I still am so I'm not looking for someone to manage the money itself just yet, but I'd like to start getting a bit more strategic about it and looking for the more forward planning side of it (even still being ~20 years away from retirement).
I mentioned in the millionaires thread that my goal had always been to hit $1million in assets (401k/HSA/IRAs/Pension but excluding house) by 35. It was one of those things that I set out to do but was never really sure if I'd achieve it or not. Well sure enough, we're on track to hit it, probably closer to $1.1m. However, my strategy up to that point has basically been as simple as max HSA, and max my Roth 401k with company contributions going Traditional for tax diversification.
Now that the first goal is likely to be met (barring a market crash in the next two years), I'd like to start thinking about my next two goals (early retirement between 50-55) and buying land.
I'd like to understand what steps I should be taking now to help facilitate an early retirement and what the risks I'll likely encounter are and then also understand my capacity for possibly taking some of the wealth we have accumulated and buy some acreage (nothing huge, probably less than $500k) and what impacts that might have on future retirement.
