Howdy guys. Don't think I've ever posted on this board, but I do check in every now and then to lurk. A coworker and myself recently left our jobs to start our own civil engineering and development company. We are class of '10 and '13 Civil Engineers. The company will be just us for the foreseeable future. We are gearing up our software and services and wanted y'alls recommendations for or against any providers in each area. I'll list out the services we still need below, but feel free to let me know of anything I'm not thing of.
- Financial Software - currently thinking quickbooks. Our book should be pretty basic - accounts receivable, account payable, 1 business checking account, 1 business credit card.
- Virtual phone system - I've looked through all the results on Google, there is a bunch. We basically just need a phone number to use for the business and have that forwarded to our cell phones or if not answered, goes to a business voicemail. Fax number and other features are a bonus, but not a requirement.
- Computer Security. - I used to be a little more up on this stuff. I know free AVG used to be OK, not sure if it is anymore. I know I don't want to use McAfee.
- IT consultant - We need to set up a very basic network (possibly just an external hard drive on one PC that both PCs can see). Remote in to the work stations would be nice. And this person can probably answer the PC security issue as well. Need a recommendation for someone in the central Texas area (Waco to Austin).
