edit: fast forward to the next company party, introduce yourself and offer a soul crushing handshake as you tell him how nice it is to finally meet him, ask him about is home life, wife , kids, ect.

Slippery slope here. How supportive is her management? Best thing she can do is document document document. Turn in the communication to her superiors in case this creeper keeps it up. Then document some more to show she notified her management that an outside party was getting weird on her in case her superiors decide the business relationship trumps her employment status. I am not an attorney but I cannot see where keeping detailed records would be a bad thing.

As the husband, shrug it off.

She handled the response well, but yeah, she should go ahead and clue in her manager.

Man that is just trash. No reason a message like that should ever be sent and I would definitely let the appropriate managers know about it.

agree with what others have said. your wife absolutely needs to take this to her manager and HR, so it is on record.

Anyone that types an email in a professional context that contains the phrase "don't take this the wrong way, but..." and still hits "send" is somebody that makes poor decisions.

I hate what this world has come to... Can't even send the "Hey! Nice meeting you." deek pic after lunch anymore. Damn you political correctness run amok!


But in all seriousness, the rib handled it well and she should make a note with her manager about it.

Happened to my wife and happens with my daughter all the time. And the thing I focus on here is that you are telling us about something you only know about because your wife told you - just like I know about these instances because my wife and now my daughter tells me.

Yeah, you'd probably be both horrified and encouraged by the amount of hot tail this guy has pulled with such a bold approach.

And even though it seems counterintuitive, oftentimes the hotter the girl, the more likely the chance of success. Guys are intimidated to be that bold with a hotter girl, so that type of girl gets approached less. Which can help the odds of her taking the bait even if the guy is a loser like this dude.

There is no shortage of creepy, old married dudes that are out there prowling and disguised as upstanding family men.

Butbher response was perfect. He'll run away from her as not to be exposed.

Y'all would be surprised how often this happens and how often it actually works out for the older dude. A woman in our company, just turned 30 and is currently still married going on 4 years with one kid, has been getting these kind of overtures for years due to her attractiveness. Most guys she throws ice water on and would relay the story to me about the creepiness.

However I caught her at lunch two months ago holding hands with an older director from a different department. It shook my world honestly. It's made me much more cynical about people
