I'm getting ready to move to Fort Collins to start work with the Forest Service at the end of August. I will actually be going up this coming week to find a place to live.

So, is there any parts of town that any of you recommend finding a place at, or vice versa to stay away from.

Also, is the Northern Colorado A&M Club still active? Meeting some friendly faces might make the move transition a bit smoother

I have never lived in Fort Collins, so I will defer to others more familiar with the city. I have visited numerous times in the last few years due to a good friend who worked at the AB brewery there.

The town is pretty easy to navigate with most of the attractions (restaurants, nightlife, etc.) clustered around old town and the university. If you are young, looking for something a bit cheaper, or feel comfortable around college kids I would recommend looking around University Blvd. and CSU. My buddy lived off of Harmony Rd. (on the south side of town). That area seemed to have a lot more of the newer money with bigger homes, nicer apartments, and newer condominium/townhouses. It was close to the interstate, close to oldtown/university, had all the things needed for daily living, and was less crowded.

I can't help with the where to live, but I have been in and out of Ft Collins for about 50 years. My brother still lives there.
There is a big "A" painted on the hill west of town close to Horsetooth resevoir due to the fact the CSU used to be Colorado A&M.
Poudre river great for fly-fishing and white water rafting. You should have a good time if you can stand the liberal mind-set.

There are definitely Ags there. i've been to and worked with a company there and there are a few Ags there. Great place, in my opinion. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park, Denver, and great weather. Enjoy.

We've lived in Ft. Collins for a year-and-a-half. Fort Collins is an incredible place to live, you will not be dissapointed. There really isn't a bad part of town to live in...seriously...of course I was coming from Galveston. Like was said before, the South side of town is newer with lots of chain restaurants, North side of town is older, more established. Most of the bars and nice restaurants are in Old Town north of the campus. We live on the south side of town and have been very happy.

We have a great Northern Colorado A&M Club that just became its own independent club, seperate from Denver. Fort Collins really isn't all that liberal. Just make the 45 minute drive to Boulder and it will give you some perspective. Send me an email at mwoods02@hotmail.com and I'll try to answer any other questions you might have.

Thanks for the responses. I look forward to moving up there in mid-August. I found a nice townhome near the foothills and in close proximity to Hughes Stadium. Hopefully it will be alright there. However, I was warned about gameday traffic, but oh well.

Madein I'm going to email you. I'm curious about some stuff.
