49th State Brewing or Glacier Brewhouse are two that I know in Anchorage that are good. Prepare to be underwhelmed by Anchorage. It's a dump of a city in a beautiful setting.

I second 49th State and would also suggest Crowd Nest in Anchorage.

Limited options in Fairbanks, but we found a smallish Moldovan restaurant called Soba that was interesting.

Edit - the city proper populations is only like 32K, so there's not going to be a ton of options.

Humpy's was good.

Moose tooth is just pizza. It is good pizza though.

Moose's tooth is a good pizza and always has a good rotating set of beers on tap. Get a Mac and Cheese or Apricot Chicken. They have several newer "tooth" places in town that have a wider menu plus pizzas and beer.

Whiskey and Ramen downtown

The Rustic Goat out by the airport.

Biscuit Club or Snow City Cafe are breakfast institutions and both are downtown.

Know now that just because you are in Alaska that seafood is no cheaper than here. It's fresher (or can be) but it's not cheaper.

Sitting in Fairbanks now getting on a plane for Texas in a couple hours.

Had Soba (mentioned above) and was good

Lemongrass Thai food - halibut chu chee extra hot was good

Hoodoo brewing was worth visit

Didn't go but my cousin who is in/out of Fairbanks several times throughout the summer likes Pump house and cookie jar restaurant.

She also recommended Chena hot springs for the spring and aurora viewing but I didn't have time to go.

Lived in Anchorage for a few years....

Mooses Tooth always a solid choice.
Bears tooth also solid for an Alamo Drafthouse style restaraunt and they have a seperate dining room as well if you didnt want to watch a movie.
Gwennies for breakfast has a touch of tourist vibes, but still pretty good.
Club Paris small downtown steakhouse was always a favorite of mine with wife when we lived there
Want a dive diner vibe for fried chicken? Luckywishbone is solid
For Burgers-Artic Roadrunner was my go to.

If you have time/a rental car, would strongly recommend making about 30 minute drive south of Anchoragre to Girdwood and eat at the Double Musky. Drive there is worth it alone

Ate at a few of the places listed in Anchorage and yes, they were were good for what they were. We were in town for a conference last September and found a little breakfast spot in downtown that we loved. Snow City Cafe....have one of their Eggs Benedicts and thank me later (Kodiak, Country Style and Ship Creek). Have a great time while you are they. We loved the sites
