So after knowing about this airline for a while I finally booked a flight. In Denver area they used to fly out of RMMA, but switched to APA maybe last year, which is 10 minutes from my house, so I've been itching to try it.

If you don't know about it, it's a semi private, charter service. No TSA, no lines, and in case of Denver, you fly out of the way smaller airport. You check in 20 min before flight.
Free beer/wine/cocktails/snacks, free wifi, free bags, and you can bring your pets. You get your bags plane side, no o/h bins so getting on/offboard is fast.

Well, Metallica sphere dates were on my radar, and my buddy was going oct 8/10 so I picked that weekend since we can share a hotel room. Saw the flight at $409..

I have Chase United club card, which is $200 annual credit.
Plus, my wife has Chase united explorer card, which is $100 annual credit.. and yes, if you call to reserve, you can split the charge on multiple cards!
So I got a $409 for effectively $109. No brainer for leaving my house all of 45 minutes before the flight leaves.

i liked it flying into miami. however, their airports (fbo's) can be a little out of the way. the mia exec is a solid 30 minutes to get into town. parking is valet only at many (maybe most/all) sites.

The routes and destinations are limited.. it's not like united or SW with hundreds of legs.
For example, out of Denver, there's only a few non stop destinations.

I assume if the model proves itself, it will grow over time.

The Dallas to Cabo route is a great one, especially if you're going during peak season.

The Cabo airport experience isn't necessarily terrible, but they bunch departure flights and then bus people to the flights from a common waiting area. If you're going over holidays, spring break, or Easter you could easily spend 2-3 hours at the airport.

Not that helpful for me being in Houston because I'd rather just fly direct.

I'm kinda wanting the opposite... if popularity increases, then more flights/destinations will be added right? It's still only a 16 person plane with no TSA, so that in and of itself makes it miles better than the big carriers. Add to the fact that in Denver, it's out of centennial which is 10 min from my house, this is really a viable option for me.

But for now, non stop routes are only vegas & scottsdale and seasonal to burbank and dallas. Not much to chose from. If they start adding in cabo/cun, maybe a florida spot, a CA spot.. I will get more excited.

not much of a secret for folks in Dallas, but they certainly offer more routes out of DAL, so to be expected.

It's definitely a great way to get to Denver, avoid DIA and be closer to the mountains(outside of flying into Vail, for example).

They are lobbying to try and get Austin to be more amenable and used to have flights, but Austin remains a difficult host.

I have flown them probably 50 times now, mostly DAL to HOU, but also DAL to places such as LAS, APA (Denver), Cabo, and MCO (no longer an option).

Its a game changer for day tripping DAL to HOU and my preferred for going to herbal friendly destinations for less thinking about the return trip home.

They have hit sort of a pause on the DAL and eastward routes to expand in the West. Makes business sense but is frustrating.

They also have free drinks and Starlink. Seat comfort and snackage is lacking, but you can sort your own on snacks and bring a cushion.

Super pet friendly. Our last flight to Colorado have a half dozen furry passengers.

Highly recommend.

Why? They have to have their own seat. Unless you are allergic, it's more entertaining than anything.

However… I have not been cursed with a flight where an animal (or human for that matter) have defecated in the cabin. My opinion would change almost certainly.

Yah, I've sat next to stinky dog, big dog, scared/barking dog and pissy cat over the years so maybe I'm scarred.

Perfectly reasonable.

I will say its an amazing sight to see the number of dogs hanging out in the terminal.

So far I have only seen a couple of cats.

Yep, before American banned "emotional support animals" I'd swear I was on a flying zoo on some flights back in the day. Saw some cool pets but it was clearly being abused.

But one of my favorite flights over the years was sitting in first with a guy that somehow got his lab on to "sit in his lap" and the dog had to pretty much stretch out on both of us to fit, I smelled like dog afterwards but he was the sweetest dog I've ever met.

If their airport in austin was not an hour drive might be worth considering.

Another issue is if you are using it for business, what happens if the flight is cancelled? If you are flying out of a major hub and flying "commercial", you can likely just hop on the next flight.

happy with the company so far.. I checked my same flight again today and it went down $50!

I found they have a customer service text number, so I sent a text asking my options. Gave my confirmation and name/dob, and he said you don't have a refundable fare (the 'all in', I got hop on) but I"m 30 days out so there's no fee to cancel/change with credit.

He said he can rebook it and give me $110 credit. I was like, uh yeh, do that, and a few minutes later, I had $110 credit in my acct.

So I paid $409+$60 for a seat pick less $200 for club card credit less $100 for explorer credit, and now $110 future credit.

My effective cost is $59.

I've flown with them once and loved it. At the time, it was not considerably more expensive than other last-minute options so it seemed like (as was) a no-brainer.

I used to fly it all the time Houston to Dallas. But they cut the number for flights and times suck, so it's pretty much not considered anymore.

Thats my usual route and agree. The most convenient options for me day tripping down there went away. I also expected more growth out of DAL (and HOU for that matter).

Instead they continue to expand in the west. The seats could use an
upgrade" as well.

You comparing apples to apples? I used to travel exclusively on SWA from DAL to HOU with an ever changing schedule. So I booked full fares. When I needed to be near IAH last-minute or full fares mean first class. Both of these options (bus select on SWA or FC on United or AA) are comparable in price to JSX.

Outside of maybe a bigger, better seat for the 45 minutes you are on the plane, the JSX experience beats the others by miles. I mean lots of miles.

Showing up 20 minutes before your flight, walking right on the plane, right off and in your car within 100 yards and 5 minutes? Thats a game changer.

It's not apple to apples if you're looking at basic economy. Obviously depends on how close you are to the FBO that JSX flies out of, but for me it's leaving my home 45 min before the plane takes off. For DEN, I'm leaving 2-2.5 hours before. And similar on the way back.. from wheels down to me pulling in driveway can literally be 30 minutes.

I'm really excited to take this flight in 6 week and bust my cherry on this airline. I can easily see it being closely considered for any solo trip or me/wife trip.. They just need to expand the destinations. 2-3 nonstop from Denver is not a lot.

We just went into and out of APA in June and the FBO there was easy in and out. Hell, being in CoSprings prior to leaving was a quick 30 minutes (we were near USAFA),

Though at Boulder they had a pretty good little lunch shack with a guy BBQ-ing on the tarmac.

Enjoy the joyfully simple experience of JSX (they actually moved on from that line, but you get it).

For others, if you find flights that work with your schedule and budget, try it out. It spoils you pretty fast.

No different than if you were located at a smaller airport with only one carrier to a HUB.

I have had a few delays between DAL and HOU due to weather and maintenance. Delays were typically a half hour or hour with one a couple of hours.

The counter to not being major airline at major hub... their options to just cancel a flight are limited. The plane itself often need to operate the route for return and continuation flights. Cancelling precipitates that schedule impact.

They also communicate during delays. Something other airlines are averse to.

Try them out if it works.

I have not flown JSX but they are affiliated with United's Mileage Plus program.
