Looking for some guidance on Punta Mita. Never been. My wife and I have been wanting to take both of our parents on a trip. We will be taking our 4 year old and 2 year old with us. I have been told we should stay "inside the gates". 6 will be flying out of houston and 2 from Dallas. I am thinking some sort of villa we can all stay with pool, some concierge service and cooking, we would maybe want a boat day, would need transportation from airport, etc. Curious if this is a good family spot for us and our littles. anyone done this and recommend? We are thinking April/May of 2027. Original thought was Cabo, but have heard good things about Punta Mita. Thanks!

Punta Mita would be my choice, if budget allows. With the grandparents and little ones, I'd definitely prioritize staying inside the gates (Punta Mita gated peninsula) and doing a villa rather than a traditional resort.

A few places I'd look at are Four Seasons Punta Mita villas, Kupuri Estates, and Ranchos Estates. They each offer a slightly different experience depending on how much resort access vs. privacy you want.

PVR is an easy airport, and I'd arrange private transfers for both groups. A private boat day would be awesome for the group (again just arrange transportation to the marina).

For April/May 2027, I'd start looking soon, the best options fill up pretty far out (especially earlier in April).

As an alternative (if you want something to compare it to), I would suggest Turks & Caicos. Especially if you want a pristine beach environment, this would be my choice. Grace Bay has some beautiful villas and so do a few other spots on the island. Only thing here is they don't have direct flights year round.

I've done a few of these larger fully staffed villa rentals across MX, the Caribbean, and elsewhere (currently working on one for 27 people in Playacar) so feel free to reach out if you have questions or if you'd like some help!

One of our favorite places to go.....Yes, make sure you stay in the gates and your condo has access to all the Beach Clubs. Most of them do but some don't, so be careful there. But the beach clubs are what make Punta Mita worthwhile.

Two hotel options with 4Seasons and St Regis, they are expensive so you would most likely be better off with a condo or house.

They wont let you on property at 4 Seasons unless you have a dinner reservation but St Regis has a beach club you get access to.

Most condos have very good concierge services and will set up airport transfer, groceries and provide a cook for breakfast. Also make sure you get a golf cart as you have to have one to get around

Can't recommend this place enough. 5-star food, service, and experience in a very personal boutique setting.

I'm sure it's already on your list but check out the playa escondido. One of the more unique beaches in the world.

we stayed "outside the gates" last time we went, but I liked the area.

We really like the shopping center with these 3 restaurants. Loved the food, atmosphere and prices when compared to our resort. Lots of Texans having a good time at dinner.
