My wife and I will be in Dubai this fall and thinking about tagging on 3-4 day trip to either the Maldives or Seychelles. Direct flights are each around 4 hrs and cost is similar. I have never been to either so looking for advice on which location and suggested 4-5 star resorts.

For September/October, I'd steer you to Seychelles. It's still high rain/monsoon season in Maldives and you don't want to risk that. It can be miserable.

My top recs for Seychelles:

- Constance Lemuria
- Mango House
- Four Seasons Seychelles (both of them)
- Cheval Blanc (if budget allows)

Happy to help with the hotel if you want some free perks extended to you and your wife!

We tacked on a week in the Seychelles to a Dubai trip about 20 years ago. Absolutely recommend. Never been to Maldives but the scenery of the islands in the Seychelles proper (Mahe, La Digue, Praslin) is not the beach atoll you get in the Maldives.

Remember to note that you are essentially on the equator. You will burn. It will be hot. You will want to bathe in sunscreen or you will have bad time.

There is a pizza place on the beach in Mahe called Bilbao's that was awesome. If it remains after 20 years, I assume it is still awesome.

Final recommendation, let Kreg17 take care of you or at least guide you in the right direction. Reminds me I owe him a note on my 2027 travel planning. Kyle rocks!
